About this award

You can receive $10,000 for this award, which is paid as $5,000 per term. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. Note that this award is not renewable. This is for you if you are an international student with an admission average of at least 95% starting a full-time English-language undergraduate program at the University of Ottawa in Winter 2026 or later. There is no application: all eligible students are considered automatically and are told at the time of their admission. There are 100 awards. The terms do not say how the 100 are chosen if more students qualify — ask the University of Ottawa's Financial Aid and Awards Service (loansandawards@uottawa.ca). Ask University of Ottawa during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed because this award is not renewable. If you are looking for multi-year funding, confirm with University of Ottawa what other options are available to you.

Who qualifies

To qualify, you must be an international student with a valid study permit who pays international tuition fees; students paying domestic fees are not eligible. You must be newly admitted in the Winter 2026 term or later into an approved English-language undergraduate program in one of these faculties: Arts, Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Social Sciences, or the Telfer School of Management. You must have a minimum admission average of 95%, be enrolled full-time, and you must not enrol in the French immersion stream. You can combine this award with the International English Admission Scholarship.

• RealismAvoid assuming this will cover your entire degree. Instead, remember that this $10,000 ($5,000 per term) is not renewable. Plan your budget for the remaining years of your undergraduate study.
