About this award

You can receive a $5,000.00 award. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an Indigenous student pursuing a technical or professional career in industries like mining, safety, or business. You must apply by October 31, 2026. When you apply, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how and when you will hear back — whether it is through email, a portal, or a phone call. Two awards are available. Selection is based on a 50% weighting for your financial need and a 50% weighting for your academic achievement. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how they verify these details and how many students typically apply so you can judge your odds. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Saskatchewan Polytechnic whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
