About this award

You can receive a $1,000.00 bursary. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep — there is nothing to repay. This is for you if you are a carpentry apprentice who has reached the final stages of your training and needs financial support to finish your program. You must apply by June 7, 2027. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — email, portal, or phone. NAIT's official page says how this award is decided (see Who qualifies). Ask NAIT how many students usually qualify, so you can judge your odds. Ask NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be enrolled in the fourth period of the Carpentry program at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). To qualify, you need a minimum academic achievement of 80% in the shop component of the program and you must show demonstrated financial need. You will only be considered during the intake when you actually attend NAIT.

This is what the award's official page said when we last checked. Rules change, so confirm on the award's official page before you apply.
