About this award

You can receive a $500.00 award. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a third-year apprentice who shows leadership and integrity through your community work and how you participate in class. You must apply by June 7, 2027. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — email, portal, or phone. Selection is based on your academic achievement, leadership, and integrity. Ask NAIT how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be a third year student enrolled in the Cabinetmaker Apprenticeship program at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). You will only be considered for the intake you attend NAIT.

Tips for applying

• Community InvolvementAvoid just listing the organizations where you volunteered. Instead, describe a specific time your leadership or integrity made a difference in your community. Give a concrete example of a project you led.
• SupportAvoid submitting a generic application. Instead, ensure your classroom participation is noted by your instructors. Talk to your teachers about how your engagement in class reflects your leadership skills.
• StrategyAvoid waiting until the last minute to check your portal. Instead, complete your General Application early. Since you are automatically considered based on that form, double-check that all your personal and program details are current.
• RealismAvoid assuming this is a guaranteed grant. Instead, remember that this is based on academic achievement and leadership. Focus your application on proving your integrity and active involvement in the program.
