About this award

You will receive $500.00. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. The money is disbursed in two increments of $500 in January and May, provided you maintain your academic standing. This is for you if you are a student-athlete balancing the demands of full-time study and playing for the Men’s Basketball team. You must apply by February 12, 2027. When you apply, ask NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) how and when you'll hear back — whether it is through email, the portal, or by phone. You are automatically considered for this award based on your completed General Application. Ask NAIT how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask NAIT during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep the funding, you must maintain your academic standing. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be a full-time student and a member of the Men’s Basketball team. You also need an academic requirement of at least 1.3 (55%) or greater achieved in the previous semester.

This is what the award's official page said when we last checked. Rules change, so confirm on the award's official page before you apply.
