You will receive a minimum of $1,000. As this is a scholarship, not a loan, you do not have to pay it back. This award is for you if you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person admitted to the University of Ottawa through the Declaration of Personal Experience (DPE), and you are starting full-time undergraduate studies for the first time in Arts, Civil Law, Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Social Sciences or the Telfer School of Management. The DPE is for applicants whose average is below the program's minimum because exceptional circumstances affected their marks. There is no scholarship application or deadline: if you are admitted through the DPE, you are considered automatically. You fill out the DPE in your admission file in uoZone; submit it as soon as you apply, because a declaration received after an admission decision is issued is not considered. The number of scholarships varies from year to year. Ask University of Ottawa during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. This scholarship is not renewable.
You must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with protected/refugee status. You must be admitted through the Declaration of Personal Experience (DPE) into one of these faculties at the University of Ottawa: Arts, Civil Law, Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Social Sciences or the Telfer School of Management. You must register as a full-time student for the first time in an undergraduate program, and you must have completed the Declaration of Personal Experience.
