President's Welcome Award (International)

What you will need

• ✓ No separate award application — you are considered automatically when you apply for undergraduate admission for September 2027
• ✓ Enter Carleton directly from high school and pay international student fees

About this award

You can receive between $2,000 and $5,000 CAD for the first year only. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an international student moving directly from high school into your first year of university. There is no separate award application: international students applying for September 2027 are considered automatically when they apply for admission. You will hear back about your admission and award status through the university's official communication channels. The amount depends on your grades at the time of admission, there is no limit on the number of awards, and it comes on top of Carleton's other Entrance Scholarships. Ask Carleton University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. It is paid for your first year only.
