About this award

You can receive a $2,000.00 award. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a student in the Machinist Apprenticeship program who has taken a lead role in your community or started your own business venture. You must apply by June 7, 2027. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — email, portal, or phone. NAIT's official page says how this award is decided (see Who qualifies). Ask NAIT how many students usually qualify, so you can judge your odds. Ask NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be enrolled in the Machinist Apprenticeship program. To qualify, you need to show satisfactory academic achievement and evidence of leadership, community involvement, volunteerism, or entrepreneurial activities.
