About this award

You can receive a $1,000.00 grant. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an Indigenous student pursuing a nursing degree at the Saskatoon campus. You must apply by October 31, 2026. When you apply, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, the portal, or phone. One award is available. Selection is based on a 50% weighting for your academic achievement and a 50% weighting for your financial need. Since you are automatically considered based on your General Application, ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic how the final winner is chosen among the pool. Ask Saskatchewan Polytechnic during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Saskatchewan Polytechnic whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

Tips for applying

• Financial NeedAvoid providing vague descriptions of your situation. Instead, use specific numbers to show how the $1,000 would impact your ability to stay in school. List your monthly expenses and current gaps in funding.
• SupportAvoid relying on a single generic reference. Instead, ask a professor or clinical instructor who can speak to your academic achievement and dedication to nursing. Provide their direct contact information.
• StrategyAvoid ignoring the General Application. Since you are automatically considered for this award through that process, ensure every section of your general profile is complete and updated.
• RealismAvoid assuming this is a guaranteed fund. Because there is only 1 award available and it is weighted heavily on both grades and financial need, continue searching for other bursaries to secure your full funding.
