About this award

You can receive $2,250 if your average is 95.0% or higher. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high school senior in Canada who has maintained a very high academic average and is planning to start university immediately after graduation. You must complete your application for admission, including payment, by the deadline. For the 2026-27 academic year it was March 1, 2026, so check the University of Winnipeg's entrance awards page for next year's date. You will receive a conditional offer one to two months after you are admitted, and University of Winnipeg will notify you of your final scholarship value in early September after your final grades arrive. You are not eligible if you have received University of Winnipeg (UW) Entrance award(s) valued at $5,000 or more. If you are in the Bachelor of Education program or plan to attend another school for credit, you cannot defer this scholarship; otherwise, you may defer your offer for up to one year by notifying admissions@uwinnipeg.ca and awards@uwinnipeg.ca by August 30.
