About this award

You can receive a $3,000 scholarship if you achieve a 95.0%+ average. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving international student moving from a high school outside of Canada to begin your undergraduate degree. Your deadline depends on when you start: complete your admission application by October 15 for a Winter 2027 start or February 15 for a Spring 2027 start (the Fall 2026 deadline, extended to June 15, has passed). The university says these dates can change to match international admission deadlines. You will receive a conditional offer shortly after the deadline, and you'll be notified of your final value after your first term begins. University of Winnipeg automatically reviews your application for admission to determine if you qualify. There is no separate application form, but you must meet the grade and registration requirements to be selected. The University of Winnipeg applies the total amount of your scholarship directly to your tuition account during your first term of study. You must register and maintain full-time registration during the academic year to keep this money. If you fall below full-time status, the university may take back all or part of the scholarship.

Who qualifies

To qualify, you must be an international student entering undergraduate studies at University of Winnipeg after graduating from a high school outside of Canada. You need the equivalent of a Canadian 95% grade average or higher based on your Grade 12 academic courses for this $3,000 amount (the scholarship starts at 85%, which earns $1,000). You must complete your admission application no more than 6 months after you graduate high school. You cannot have attended any other post-secondary institution, unless it was for dual credit high school courses. You must meet these specific registration minimums: - Fall start: at least 9 credit hours in both fall and winter terms - Winter start: at least 9 credit hours in the winter term - Spring start: at least 6 credit hours of 6-8 weeks duration in the spring term Note that you may only receive one University of Winnipeg entrance award. If you are offered multiple awards, you will receive the one with the greatest value. Also, you cannot hold this scholarship and the President's Scholarship for World Leaders at the same time.
