About this award

You can receive various amounts based on your scores: $250 for each AP (Advanced Placement — a rigorous college-level course taken in high school) exam result of 5, $150 for each AP result of 4, $250 for each IB (International Baccalaureate — a global standardized curriculum) final result of 7 on higher level papers, $200 for each IB result of 6 on higher level papers and 7 on standard level papers, and $150 for each IB result of 5 on higher level papers. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are starting your undergraduate journey with advanced credits earned during high school. You must submit your request by October 31 each year. No specific notification date is posted publicly — when you apply, ask the University of Winnipeg how and when you will hear back about your credit transfer and scholarship status. The amount you receive is set by your AP or IB exam results, using the values above. If you send your transfer credit request after October 31, you can still ask for the credit but you will not be considered for the scholarship. Ask University of Winnipeg during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To claim this funding, you must register in full-time studies for both the Fall and Winter terms.
