About this award

The University of Ottawa lists this scholarship at a minimum of $10,000 a year, renewable for one more year ($20,000 over two years). This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an international student who completed high school or an undergraduate degree at an institution in Greece, and you have been accepted to a full-time undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Ottawa. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation set it up in 2012 to help students from Greece study at the University of Ottawa. The deadline is March 31, 2027. You apply in the University of Ottawa's Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, which you reach through uoZone (the university's student portal). When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back. The number of awards varies from year to year, and winners must show academic excellence during the admission process. Ask the University of Ottawa's Financial Aid and Awards Service (loansandawards@uottawa.ca) how many awards they usually give. Ask the University of Ottawa how the money will reach you. Some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. To renew it for a second year, you must keep good academic standing and stay registered full time.
