You get $5,000 a year, $20,000 in total. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident admitted as a full-time undergraduate to the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, you are a member of a racialized or Indigenous community, and you are involved in your community. The deadline is March 31, 2027. You apply in Online Scholarships and Bursaries, which you reach through uoZone (the University of Ottawa's student portal). When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back. Four scholarships are given each year. You also need the required admission average; ask the University of Ottawa's Financial Aid and Awards Service what that is. Ask the University of Ottawa how the money will reach you. Some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. The scholarship renews automatically for three years as long as you keep a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 5.0 or higher at the end of each academic year and stay a full-time student at the Telfer School of Management. Pausing your studies, or switching to part-time or special student status, ends the scholarship.
You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, admitted as a full-time undergraduate student to the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, involved in your community, and have the required admission average. You must also either be a racialized person (a member of a visible minority: someone other than Indigenous who is non-white in colour or race, regardless of place of birth or citizenship) or provide documented proof of Indigenous identity under the University of Ottawa's procedure for First Nations, Inuit and Métis applicants.
