What you will need

• ✓ Participation in the Varshney Cup Competition

About this award

You get $900.00 for this award. As a prize, this money is yours to keep and does not have to be paid back, though the funding will be split equally amongst all your team members. This is for you if you are a student competing in the Varshney Cup Competition and you secure a third-place finish. The deadline to apply is February 12, 2027. Since you are automatically considered based on your General Application, ask NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) how and when you will be notified if your team wins. Winners are chosen based on a third-place finish, judged by a rubric that NAIT will provide to the students. Selection criteria aren't published beyond that, so ask NAIT how many teams typically compete so you can judge your odds. Ask NAIT during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
