Western Canada Water Association - Winter Intake

What you will need

• ✓ Completed General Application submitted through the NAIT awards portal

About this award

You get $500.00. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a graduating student enrolled in the Water and Wastewater Technician program at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). The application deadline is February 12, 2027. Since you are automatically considered, you will not receive a separate notification to apply, but you should check your student portal for news on winners. You are automatically considered for this award based on your completed General Application. Selection is based on the second highest academic achievement in the program. Ask NAIT during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with NAIT whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Tips for applying

• SupportAvoid waiting for a specific invite. Instead, double-check that your General Application is complete and submitted through the awards portal.
• StrategyAvoid ignoring the General Application just because this award is automatic. Instead, fill out every section of the portal to ensure you are eligible for other awards you might have missed.
• RealismAvoid counting on this as your primary funding. Instead, remember that only one student with the second-highest rank wins this specific prize, making it very narrow in scope.
