Wolf Scholars Program

About this award

You will receive a fully funded undergraduate experience at the University of Toronto: your tuition is fully covered for your four years in the program, and you get an annual stipend of $10,000 for other student expenses. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an exceptional young leader with a strong drive to build, lead, and create a meaningful impact locally and globally. You must submit your application by November 2, 2026, at 11:59 AM ET. If you have supplemental documents to submit, the deadline is December 1, 2026. You will hear back if you are a semi-finalist via an invitation to an online interview in January 2027, and finalists will be notified for a selection weekend in late February. Up to 16 exceptional students will be selected in March. The process involves an online application, a semi-final interview, and a final round during the Wolf Selection Weekend at the University of Toronto, where the program covers your travel and accommodation. Ask the Wolf Cooper Foundation during your application how the funds are distributed—some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Tuition is covered throughout your four years in the program. The conditions for keeping your place aren't listed — confirm with the Wolf Cooper Foundation what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada. You must be born between September 1, 2005 and December 31, 2010. You must currently be in your final year of secondary school or in your first year of Cégep (a pre-university college system in Quebec) and have not yet attended a post-secondary institution. If you graduated from secondary school within the last three years, you are still eligible. You need a minimum cumulative 90% academic average in your last completed year of high school; if you attend school outside of Canada, your transcripts are reviewed using an equivalency framework based on a 90% average. You must apply to the Faculty of Arts & Science (excluding Rotman Commerce) or the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the St. George campus. You are not eligible if you accept offers from Rotman Commerce, the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education, the Faculty of Architecture, or the Faculty of Music.

• SupportAvoid assuming a school nomination is required. Instead, remember that while you must apply directly, a nomination from your school provides added support. Ask your school leadership if they can nominate you through the independent process.
• StrategyAvoid focusing only on your grades. Instead, highlight your curiosity and character by explaining why the academic rigour of this program excites you. Show how you act with humility and empathy in your community.
• RealismAvoid ignoring the separate university application. Instead, ensure you apply to the University of Toronto through the OUAC (the Ontario Universities' Application Centre — the central portal for university admissions) by the November 2 deadline. You must complete both the scholarship and the university applications to be considered.
