What you will need

• ✓ Apply for admission to an Acadia undergraduate program and provide all required admission documents

About this award

You can receive $32,000 in total, which is paid as $8,000 per year. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving student with a scholarship average of at least 95% who is starting their first undergraduate degree. You must complete your scholarship forms in your portal by March 1. When you apply for admission, Acadia University will send you an offer letter; if you are eligible, your initial scholarship offer will be included in that letter. Selection is based on your academic average. Acadia University calculates this by combining your final Grade 11 and first semester Grade 12 courses that are required for admission. Acadia credits scholarship money to your university account in two instalments, September and January; if that leaves a credit, you can ask Student Accounts for a refund cheque. Under Acadia's terms for renewable scholarships, you keep it for up to four years (or until you finish your first undergraduate degree, if sooner) as long as you register in at least 24 credit-hours each September-to-April year and keep a standing GPA of at least 3.50 in year one and 3.67 in year two and later.

Who qualifies

You must be a Canadian or International student who is a high school student, secondary level student, or transfer student. To be considered for this specific high-value award, you need a minimum scholarship average of at least 95%. General entrance scholarships require an average of at least 80% in the courses required for admission. If you are a transfer student, you must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or 80%, be in your first undergraduate degree program, and have completed no more than 2 years or 60 credit-hours. Finally, you must be within 5 years of graduating high school.
