What you will need

About this award

You can receive $40,000 in total, which is paid as $10,000 per year. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving student with a minimum scholarship average of at least 95% who is starting their first undergraduate degree. You must complete and submit your scholarship forms in your portal by March 1. When you apply, ask Acadia University how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, the portal, or phone. You are automatically considered for an entrance scholarship when you apply for admission. Students with a scholarship average of at least 95% are considered for Acadia's top scholarships; how Acadia chooses among them isn't published — ask how many it awards each year so you can judge your odds. Acadia credits scholarship money to your university account in two instalments, September and January; if that leaves a credit, you can ask Student Accounts for a refund cheque. Under Acadia's terms for renewable scholarships, you keep it for up to four years (or until you finish your first undergraduate degree, if sooner) as long as you register in at least 24 credit-hours each September-to-April year and keep a standing GPA of at least 3.50 in year one and 3.67 in year two and later.

Who qualifies

You must be a Canadian or International student who is a high school, secondary level, or transfer student. To be considered for this specific scholarship, you need a minimum scholarship average of at least 95%. Generally, you must have an average of at least 80% in the courses required for admission. If you are a transfer student, you need a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or 80%. You must be in your first undergraduate degree program, have completed no more than 2 years or 60 credit-hours, and be within 5 years of graduating high school.
