About this award

You can receive a $1,500 scholarship. This is a grant, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you have lived in the Village of Port Williams for at least five years and have balanced strong grades with service to your church and community. You must apply by May 31. The application form goes to the Village Commission Chairman of the Village of Port Williams (the address is on the form), not to Acadia. The winner must show scholastic merit (at least 75% in Grades 11 and 12), financial need, and a positive contribution to community life and church affairs. Ask how many students usually apply so you can judge your odds. Ask Acadia University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow.
