What you will need

About this award

You can receive $2,500. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are starting your degree in business and have spent your time outside of class participating in extra-curricular activities. You must apply by March 1st. When you apply, ask Acadia University how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, phone, or through a portal. The awards are made based on the recommendation of the Director of the Fred C. Manning School of Business. Two scholarships are awarded each year, and at least one recipient will be a Nova Scotia resident. Ask Acadia University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Acadia University whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be entering the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program and have participated in extra-curricular activity. While the award is open to various students, at least one recipient will be a Nova Scotia resident.

• RealismAvoid assuming this is an automatic award. Since it is awarded annually to only two students and relies on a recommendation from the Director of the Fred C. Manning School of Business, you should apply for several other options to secure your funding.
