About this award

You can receive a one-time payment of $20,000. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving domestic student who has balanced strong academics with leadership roles in areas like sports, music, arts, entrepreneurship, or social enterprise. To be considered, complete the Awards Profile in the JOIN U of T applicant portal after you apply to U of T. Its deadline is typically in early February of your final year of high school; the 2026 deadline has passed. Selection is based on academic merit and demonstrated leadership excellence. Up to 10 scholarships will be awarded annually. Financial need may also be considered. Ask University of Toronto during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. This award is not renewable, so it is a one-time payment.

Who qualifies

You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person in your final year at a Canadian secondary school, entering any first-entry undergraduate program at the University of Toronto. You are required to have a minimum admission average of 95%.
