Conestoga College Canerector Foundation Scholarship (Skilled Trades)

About this award

You can receive a $1,000 entrance scholarship and an additional $1,000 per term. The maximum total amount you can receive, including the entrance award, is $5,000. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are entering the first year of an eligible full-time skilled trades program at Conestoga College (construction, industrial and motive power sectors) and you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person/refugee. No deadline is posted. The online application form was closed when we checked in September 2026; email canerectorscholarship@conestogac.on.ca to ask when it opens next. Conestoga College looks for passion and enthusiasm for the skilled trades, a strong desire to build a trades career, and willingness to take part in activities as a Skilled Trades Ambassador. Selected applicants are invited to a virtual interview. Ask Conestoga College during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average in their program, remain in good standing, and act as mentors and ambassadors for the skilled trades.

Who qualifies

You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person/refugee, entering the first year of an eligible skilled trade program at Conestoga College (construction, industrial and motive power sectors) and registered as a full-time domestic student. You must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average in your program and remain in good standing. The scholarship is set to support 120 skilled trades students over four years.

• StrategyAvoid ignoring program-specific opportunities. Instead, speak with your faculty or program coordinator at Conestoga College about other awards that match your specific trade. Make a list of all internal deadlines in one calendar.
