You can receive $10,000 per year, with an anticipated total amount over the full term of $40,000.00. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. It is awarded to one student and is renewable for three additional years of study. This is for you if you grew up in the Rural Municipality of Franklin in Manitoba and are planning to start your first year of university at University of Winnipeg. The application deadline is March 1, 2027. Since you are automatically considered based on your General Application, you will not need a separate form, but ask University of Winnipeg's awards office how and when they notify winners. Selection is handled by the University of Winnipeg awards office. They prioritize students from specific high schools and those with very high grades, though a graduate of Roseau Valley School is preferred and will supersede all other grade and graduation date criteria. Ask University of Winnipeg how many students typically apply for this single award so you can judge your odds. Ask University of Winnipeg during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep this scholarship for the three additional years, you must enroll in a minimum of 18 credit hours for both the fall and winter terms. You must also maintain a cumulative grade point average of 4.0. If you have questions about these limits, confirm the exact requirements with University of Winnipeg.
You must be a first-year student at University of Winnipeg with a minimum 90% admission average. You must have attended one of these high schools in this preferential order: 1) Roseau Valley School (Dominion City, MB) or 2) W.C. Miller Collegiate (Altona, MB). If no recipient is found from those schools, the university may consider you if you graduated from any high school in the Border Land School Division or if you are or have been a resident of the Roseau Valley High School catchment area. Priority is given to students entering their first year in the fall term immediately following high school graduation in June. Secondary consideration is given to those who graduated high school within 3 years of starting at University of Winnipeg. Among those in the 3-year window, preference is given to students who attended RRC (R떡on College) Polytechnic after high school and before starting at University of Winnipeg.
