About this award
You get $4,500 for this scholarship. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. It is awarded annually and is renewable for an additional three years. This is for you if you are a Manitoba high school graduate who has shown outstanding leadership and made significant extracurricular contributions in your school and your community. You must apply by March 1, 2027. When you apply, ask University of Winnipeg how and when you'll hear back — whether it is by email, the portal, or phone. Ask University of Winnipeg how many students usually apply, so you can judge your odds. Ask University of Winnipeg during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep this award for the additional three years, you must enrol in a minimum of 18 credit hours and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA — a number that represents your average grade across all courses) of 3.55.

You must be an outstanding Manitoba high school graduate who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and extracurricular contributions in both your school and your community.

Tips for applying

- RealismAvoid assuming this is a guaranteed award. Because it is given to a single outstanding graduate annually, focus on highlighting what makes your community contribution unique compared to other high achievers.
