About this award

You can receive up to $40,000, which is $20,000 per academic year. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. The money is meant to help you cover the cost of your tuition, living expenses, and the tools you need for your trade. This is for you if you are a hardworking and dedicated person who wants to build a career in the skilled trades and is willing to act as an ambassador for the profession in your community. For programs starting in September 2026, applications were due by May 29, 2026, and short-listed candidates were interviewed in June 2026. When you apply, ask the Schulich Foundation / Cambrian College how and when you will be notified if you are selected for an interview. Winners are chosen based on their work ethic, character, and financial need. There are ten scholarships available at Cambrian: five for one-year certificate programs and five for two-year diploma programs. Selection involves a review of your letter of recommendation and a determination of financial need by the college's Financial Aid office. Ask Schulich Foundation / Cambrian College during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep your scholarship, you must pass your courses each semester. No minimum grade average is required, but you must successfully complete your classes to remain eligible.

You can apply for this scholarship if you are a Canadian citizen and meet the admission requirements for Cambrian College. You must be enrolling in a full-time, eligible skilled trades certificate or diploma program starting in September 2026.
