About this award

You can receive up to $12,000 in total, broken down as $3,000 per year for 4 years. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving domestic student entering university directly from high school with a top-tier academic average. There is no separate application deadline because you are assessed automatically when you apply for admission. You will find out if you qualify and see the exact value of your award inside your official offer of admission from University of Toronto Mississauga. Winners are chosen automatically based on your admitted average and other academic criteria. Selection is handled by the admissions office during the offer process, and your average will not be reassessed after you are admitted. The money is applied directly to your student account after your full-time enrolment is confirmed every September. Ask University of Toronto Mississauga during your registration if there are any other specific disbursement details you should know. To keep this scholarship for all 4 years, you must maintain full-time registration at University of Toronto Mississauga in the Fall and Winter sessions. You also need to complete at least 3.0 credits and maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA — the average of all your grades across all terms) of at least 3.70 by the end of each academic year. Note that if you participate in the UTMCIP (University of Toronto Mississauga Co-operative Integrated Program — a program that blends academic study with professional work terms) or PEY (Professional Experience Year — a long-term internship), you won't receive payment during your internship months, though you can keep the award if you return to full-time study afterward.

Who qualifies

You must be a domestic student newly admitted to University of Toronto Mississauga directly from high school with an admitted average of 95.0% and above. If you are from Ontario, this average is based on the Ontario high school curriculum; if you are from another jurisdiction, the school uses local curriculum standards, standardized tests, or entrance exams to decide. You are not eligible if you are a transferring student, an internal applicant, a visiting student, or a non-degree student. If you repeated a course, the school uses the first grade you earned to calculate your average.
