About this award

You get $10,000 in total, paid out as $1,250 over 8 terms. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving domestic student moving directly from high school to university and want a financial head start in any program. Offers are made automatically based on your grades available in May, so there is no separate application deadline. If you submitted a late OUAC (the Ontario Universities' Application Centre — the central portal for university admissions in Ontario) application for the Winter term, you should email the University of Windsor office to ensure you are recognized as a direct-from-high-school student. Winners are chosen automatically by the university based on your 12O admission average (the average of your top 6 Grade 12 U/M level courses). Selection is based on meeting the specific percentage bracket for this award level. Ask University of Windsor during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep this scholarship for the maximum of 8 installments, you must register full-time for 2 semesters each academic year. You also need to maintain a minimum scholarship average of 85% at the end of each 2 term study period.

Who qualifies

You must be a domestic student entering the University of Windsor directly from full-time secondary school with no previous attendance at any post-secondary institution. To qualify for this specific level of support, your 12O admission average (calculated from your best six final and interim Grade 12 U/M level qualifying courses or equivalent) must be between 90% and 94.99%. You must register full-time in the academic year immediately following your high school graduation. Note that co-op courses are not included in your admission average calculation.
