About this award

Depending on your admission average, you can receive a one-time scholarship. Domestic students get $2,500 for an average of 85.0-89.9%, $3,000 for 90.0-94.9%, and $4,000 for 95.0-100%. International students receive $5,000 with any admission average up to 94.9%, and $6,000 for 95.0-100%. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an incoming student attending postsecondary for the first time and want your academic achievements recognized financially as you start your degree. No application is required and there is no deadline to meet. You are automatically considered based on your admission average as of July 2027. Check your official offer letter from Wilfrid Laurier University to see which award you received and the specific conditions you must meet. Winners are chosen automatically based on the admission average grid. The President's Gold Scholarship is awarded to those with an average of 95.0-100%. Selection is based on your final grades as of the beginning of July 2027, though summer school courses are not counted. The money is applied automatically to your fee invoice. The total amount is split between your first two terms of study, provided those terms fall within the same academic year (September to August). To keep the full amount, you must remain registered full-time with a minimum of 2.0 credits per term. You must also be registered in two terms within your first academic year. Who qualifies

You are eligible if you are attending postsecondary for the first time and are starting your degree at Wilfrid Laurier University with fewer than 4.0 university credits previously attempted at any university, or less than 1 year of full-time college education. For domestic students in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA — a professional degree focusing on management and business) or BBA double-degree programs, you must have an admission average of 90% or higher to qualify.
