About this award

Depending on your status and GPA, you can receive $1,250 or $1,500 as a domestic undergraduate student, or, as an international student who entered in 2025/26 or later, $5,000 for a GPA of 7.0 to 12.0 (international students who entered in 2023/24 or earlier use the same $1,250 and $1,500 grid as domestic students). Those in the Stay Golden International Scholarship Program (for students who entered in Fall 2024 and Winter 2025) can receive $5,000 for a GPA between 10.0 and 12.0. As a scholarship, this money is yours to keep and does not have to be paid back. This is for you if you are a continuing undergraduate student who has maintained a high GPA and completed at least 5.0 credits at Wilfrid Laurier University. For fall and winter terms, evaluations happen in July and recipients are notified by email in late July; for spring, summer and intersession, evaluations happen in early October with notification in mid-October. Because there is no application form to fill out, you do not have a deadline to meet. Winners are chosen automatically by the school based on your marks from the previous academic year. The money is applied equally to your fees for the next two full-time academic terms. You can check your award details by logging into LORIS (Laurier Online Registrar Information System — the student portal for records and finances) under the "Awards and Financial Aid" card. To keep this funding, you must remain registered in a full-time course load (at least 2.0 credits per term) in at least two of the three academic terms of your current year. If you drop a course, Wilfrid Laurier University may adjust or revoke your award.

Who qualifies

You are eligible if you are a full-time undergraduate student leading to a recognized degree and are not in your first year. You must have completed a minimum of 5.0 credits at Wilfrid Laurier University (transfer credits from other schools do not count) and been enrolled in at least 2.0 credits per term in two of the three previous academic terms. For the current year, you must be registered in a full-time course load in at least two of the three terms (minimum 2.0 credits per term). Specific GPA thresholds apply: - Domestic students: $1,250 for GPA 10.50 to 10.99; $1,500 for GPA 11.0 to 12.0. - International students who entered in 2025/26 or later: $5,000 for GPA 7.0 to 12.0. - International students who entered in 2023/24 or earlier: $1,250 for GPA 10.50 to 10.99; $1,500 for GPA 11.0 to 12.0. - Stay Golden International Scholarship Program (Fall 2024/Winter 2025 entry): $5,000 for GPA 10.0 to 12.0. You cannot receive this if you already have the President's Gold Scholarship, Laurier Scholars Award, or the Stay Golden International Scholarship (for the 24/25 cohort). Students in the two-year Faculty of Education program and graduate students are not eligible. Only students in approved five-year Honours double degree programs (BBA/BA Financial Mathematics, BBA/BSc Computer Science, BBA/Honours Computing and Computer Electronics (UW), or BBA/Honours Mathematics (Waterloo)) can be considered based on year four achievement.
