About this award

You can receive $2,500 if you are a domestic student or $5,000 if you are an international student. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. The money is split between your first two terms of study. This is for you if you are starting your post-secondary journey with a strong academic record and are entering a degree program at Wilfrid Laurier University. No application deadline is posted publicly because you are automatically considered when you apply to the university. Your final grades are assessed as of the beginning of July 2027. Check your official offer letter to see if you received the award and what specific conditions you must meet. Winners are chosen automatically based on your admission average as of July 2027. The scholarship you receive, and the conditions attached to it, are listed on your offer letter. The money is applied automatically to your fee invoice. Since the funds go directly to your student account to cover costs, you do not need to arrange a separate bank transfer. To keep the full amount, you must be registered full-time with at least 2.0 credits per term. You also need to be registered in two terms within your first academic year (which runs from September to August). Confirm with Wilfrid Laurier University if there are any other GPA requirements to maintain the funding.

Who qualifies

You qualify if you are attending post-secondary for the first time and have an admission average between 85.0% and 89.9%. You must be starting your degree at Wilfrid Laurier University with fewer than 4.0 university credits previously attempted at any university, or less than 1 year of full-time college education. This specific grade bracket is for incoming students beginning in September 2027 and after. Note that domestic students in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA — a professional degree in business management) and BBA double-degree programs are only eligible for entrance scholarships if their admission average is 90% or higher.
