What you will need

• ✓ Confirmation of nomination from your high school for the Queen's Chancellor's Scholarship

• ✓ Completed Major Admission Award application submitted via SOLUS (the Queen's University student portal)

About this award

You can receive $48,000 in total, which is paid as $12,000 per year for 4 years. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving student entering the first year of any first-entry undergraduate degree program in Smith Engineering who has shown leadership and creative thinking. You must submit your application by December 8. You will see your results in your SOLUS (the Queen's University student portal) account in late February. Selection is based on a nomination from your high school and your detailed application. Only one award is available, and the school looks for academic excellence and community involvement. Ask Queen's University how many students typically apply for this specific award so you can judge your odds. Who qualifies

You must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a Protected Person (someone with refugee or protected-person status in Canada). You can attend high school in Canada or internationally, and you can still apply if you are taking a gap year. To be competitive, you should have a cumulative average of 90% or higher throughout high school. You must be nominated by your high school for the Queen's Chancellor's Scholarship to be eligible for this award.
