About this award

You can receive a $1,000 scholarship. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a competitive swimmer who is transitioning from high school to post-secondary education. You must apply by June 15. When you apply, ask Fredericton Community Foundation how and when you will hear back — whether by email, phone, or a portal. The Limpert Scholarship Committee chooses the winners. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Fredericton Community Foundation how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Fredericton Community Foundation during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Fredericton Community Foundation whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.

Who qualifies

You must be a graduate from one of these four schools: Fredericton High School, Leo Hayes High School, Oromocto High School, or Ecole Sainte-Anne High School. Additionally, you must continue to swim competitively while you pursue your post-secondary studies.

This is what the award's official page said when we last checked. Rules change, so confirm on the award's official page before you apply.
