About this award

You can receive a $1,000 scholarship. This is a grant, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. It is awarded annually. This is for you if you are a female soccer player graduating from Fredericton High School. You must apply by the last day of April. When you apply, ask Fredericton Community Foundation how and when you will hear back — whether by email, phone, or a portal. The Cronin Memorial Scholarship Committee chooses the winner. Selection criteria aren't published — ask Fredericton Community Foundation how winners are chosen and roughly how many applicants they typically receive so you can judge your odds. Ask Fredericton Community Foundation during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. Renewal conditions aren't listed — if you're counting on this for multiple years, confirm with Fredericton Community Foundation whether it's one-time or renewable and what you need to maintain.
