About this award

Depending on your program, you get $8,000 per year for a total of $32,000 if you are in the Faculty of Arts and Science, or $15,000 per year for a total of $60,000 if you are in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. As a bursary, this money is yours to keep — there is nothing to repay. This is for you if you are an Ontario resident who has balanced your studies with active involvement in extra-curricular activities while facing financial challenges. You must apply by February 15. When you apply, ask how and when you'll hear back — email, portal, or phone. Winners are chosen on financial need and involvement in extra-curricular activities, and the number of bursaries varies each year. Ask Queen's University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep this award for the three subsequent years after your first year, you must maintain a minimum GPA (Grade Point Average — the average of all your final grades) of 2.0 each year. You must also show that your financial need and involvement in extra-curricular activities remain evident.
