About this award

You get $3,000 in your first year, which is split evenly between the fall and winter semesters. Because this is a scholarship, not a loan, you do not have to pay it back. If you maintain your grades, you can receive a potential annual renewable amount of $3,000, leading to a potential total scholarship value of $12,000. This is for you if you are a high-achieving student at a Canadian secondary school who has maintained a very high academic average throughout your final years of high school. You must submit your complete application for admission by September 1, 2027. When you apply, ask Toronto Metropolitan University how and when you will be notified of your scholarship status — whether it comes through the applicant portal or via email. Selection is based on your final admission average (your best 6 Grade 12 U/M courses or equivalent); every student with a 95%+ average who meets the terms receives it. Ask Toronto Metropolitan University during your application how the money will reach you — some awards pay students directly, others apply funds to tuition. Confirm this so you can plan your cash flow. To keep this award, you need a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average — the average of all your final grades across all courses) of at least 3.85 and a course load of at least 80% (4 or more billing units) in both fall and winter. The yearly renewal amount follows your CGPA: $3,000 for 4.15 or higher, $1,500 for 4.01 to 4.14, and $750 for 3.85 to 4.00.

Who qualifies

You are eligible if you are a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, a protected person in Canada (someone with refugee or protected-person status in Canada), or an international student. You must be admitted for 2027-2028 and be enrolling in a post secondary institution for the first time. You must be currently enrolled full-time in a Canadian secondary school and have been continuously enrolled full-time with no gaps in attendance prior to the 2026-2027 regular school year. You must have a final admission average of 95%+ and have completed a minimum of 3 Ontario grade 12 U/M (University or Mixed preparation) courses or the Canadian provincial equivalent within the 2026-2027 regular school year.
