You can receive between $1,000 and $3,000 per year, which totals between $4,000 and $15,000 over the course of your degree. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. The exact amount depends on your average: if you have 94% or higher, you get $3,000 per year ($12,000 or $15,000 total); from 90% to 93.999%, you get $2,000 per year ($8,000 or $10,000 total); from 88% to 89.999%, you get $1,500 per year ($6,000 or $7,500 total); and from 80% to 87.999%, you get $1,000 per year ($4,000 or $5,000 total). This is for you if you are a high-achieving student starting your first undergraduate degree at any of the three Université de Moncton campuses. No specific application deadline is posted publicly, but your timing changes how your marks are calculated. If you apply for admission before December 16, the school uses only your Grade 11 marks. If you apply after December 15 but before graduation, they use Grade 11 and your first semester of Grade 12. After graduation, they use all marks from Grades 11 and 12. You will hear about your award at the same time as your admission offer if you live in the Atlantic provinces, or shortly after if you live elsewhere. Selection is automatic based on your academic results. You must have a GPA (Grade Point Average — a number that represents the average value of your accumulated final grades) of 80% or higher to qualify. The scholarship is paid in two equal instalments during the school year, and the money is first applied to the fees you owe to Université de Moncton. Ask Université de Moncton during your application to confirm the exact payment dates. To keep this scholarship, you must remain enrolled in at least 11 credits per term. You generally need to maintain a GPA of 3.80 after each year of study. For the first year only, if your GPA is between 3.70 and 3.79, you may still receive a renewal at 50% of the award value. Note that this is renewable for the duration of a normal four-year program, though five-year programs are also covered. If you lose your qualification in one year, you cannot get it back for later years.
You must be a graduate of a Canadian high school and be enrolling in an undergraduate program for the first time at one of the three Université de Moncton campuses. Non-Canadian students and students attending via a student mobility program are not eligible. You must maintain a minimum of 11 credits per term. If you previously attended a college or university, the school will look at your marks from the last two years to calculate your average. You cannot combine this with local Academic Merit Scholarships.
