You can receive one or more scholarships with a value of at least $5,000. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an international student with an outstanding academic record who is starting a university degree. There is no application. Once you are admitted to UVic, send an interim transcript (if you are still in secondary school) or a final transcript to Undergraduate Admissions; eligible students are referred to Student Awards and Financial Aid automatically. If you are offered the scholarship, accept it through View My Student Aid in UVic Online tools, using your NetLink ID. Scholarships go mainly to students with the strongest academic records. UVic's entrance scholarship page lists its automatic scholarship for international students entering in 2027-2028 at $15,000 (one-time) for an A- average or equivalent. The money is applied to your tuition and fees for the winter session (September to April); if it is more than you owe, the balance is paid to you as long as you stay registered in at least 12.0 units. It is a one-time scholarship, and you must normally register in and keep at least 12.0 units in your first winter session (September to April) to receive it.
You must be an international student entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Victoria. You must also be academically outstanding. UVic's entrance scholarship rules say you must normally be a current secondary school student, or have graduated within the last two years without attending a post-secondary institution; be admitted with a competitive admission average and meet UVic's academic and English proficiency requirements; and study at UVic on a Canadian study permit. International scholarship funding is only for students charged international tuition fees. If you are an international student finishing a Canadian secondary school diploma, UVic assesses you under its Canadian high school rules (an admission average of at least 90% or 32 IB points).
