About this award

You receive a one-time payment of $2,000. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are a high-achieving student from Canada or a permanent resident moving into your first year of university. These scholarships are awarded automatically at the time of admission, so there is no separate deadline to track. Since the process is automatic, you will likely hear about your award through your official admission offer from University of Toronto Scarborough. Winners are chosen automatically based on your high school GPA (Grade Point Average — the average of your final grades). There is no committee review or application form to fill out. The scholarship is credited to your tuition account by the mid-October service charge date. To keep it, register full-time (at least 1.5 credits by the end of each term in the fall and winter sessions if you start in September). If you withdraw or substantially reduce your course load without prior approval, you may have to repay all or part of it.

Who qualifies

You must be a domestic student, which means you are a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a protected person (someone with refugee or protected-person status in Canada). You must have an admission average between 92.0% and 94.9%. Please note that these entrance scholarships are generally not combined with other U of T (University of Toronto) scholarships, such as the President's Scholars of Excellence Program or the U of T Scholars Award.
