About this award

Depending on the award you receive, you get either $45,000 or $25,000 for your first year. Both levels of the International Scholar Award - U of T Scarborough are renewable for three additional years. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an international student moving from high school into a university program. No specific application deadline is posted because these are automatic. You will hear the decision from University of Toronto Scarborough before the deadline to accept your offer of admission. Selection is automatic for students applying for admission, so there is no separate application process. Selection criteria aren't published — ask University of Toronto Scarborough how they determine who receives the $45,000 versus the $25,000 award. The award is paid in each term you are registered full-time: $12,500 a term at the $25,000 level or $22,500 a term at the $45,000 level. Co-op work terms do not count as full-time course registration terms. To keep it, you must stay registered full-time as an international student paying international fees, complete at least 1.5 credits by the end of each term, and remain in good standing. Renewal is not tied to a specific minimum GPA, and the award may be withdrawn for unsatisfactory academic performance.

Who qualifies

You must be an international student applying from secondary school. You must also be paying international fees. It can be combined with other U of T admission awards unless stated otherwise, but not with the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship.
