You can receive a total of $25,000 over four years. This is broken down as $10,000 in your first year and $5,000 each in years 2, 3, and 4. As a scholarship, this money is yours to keep — there is nothing to repay. This is for you if you are an international student finishing high school who has maintained a strong academic average and is preparing to move to Canada for your undergraduate studies. No separate application is required for this specific award because you are automatically considered based on your admission. However, you will hear the final decision via email in March 2027. You are considered automatically based on your final admission average: 80% to 89.9%, or the equivalent for your curriculum. The money will be applied directly to your York Student Account and will show up on your August statement. This means the funds reduce the balance you owe the school rather than being sent as a cash cheque. To keep this scholarship, you must remain enrolled full-time in a York University undergraduate program. You must also accept your offer of admission by the deadline in your letter and satisfy all admission conditions within 30 days of the term start. Confirm with York University if there are any other GPA requirements to maintain the funding in years 2, 3, and 4.
You qualify if you are an international high school applicant paying international tuition rates. You must have a final average of 80% - 89.9% (or the equivalent for your curriculum). You are considered a high school applicant if you are less than 21 years old by the end of the calendar year you are admitted, have been out of full-time high school for less than two years, and have not previously attempted studies at an accredited college or university. Those with advanced standing are eligible as long as they have less than 24 transfer credits.
