About this award

You can receive up to $7,000: $4,000 in your first year, then $1,000 for each renewal. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an international student (U.S.A. applicants get the domestic amounts instead) starting your very first undergraduate degree at Brock. Domestic students entering in 2026 need at least 85% for a Brock Scholars Award, so this range applies to international students. No separate application deadline is posted because there is no application required. However, you must reply to your offer of admission by the deadline set by the Registrar's Office (the university department that manages student records) to secure the award. Winners are chosen automatically based on your admission average. Brock University calculates your average to the nearest 10th of a percent without rounding. Selection criteria are handled by the Admissions Office. The money is applied directly to your tuition fees before classes begin in September, which reduces the amount you owe the university. Note that you cannot use these funds for first instalments or down payments. To keep this award, you must remain a full-time student. You need a minimum 80 per cent average in each milestone of 5.0 credits to renew. Pass degree students (three years) can get two renewals, while honours degree students (four years) can get three. If you are in the Concurrent Education program, you only get renewals during your first degree, not during your teacher education years.

Who qualifies

You must be an international student (U.S.A. applicants get the domestic amounts instead) entering your first undergraduate program in the Fall term with no previous post-secondary experience, with a final admission average between 80.0% and 84.9%. To receive the funds, you must be a full-time student (at least 3.0 credits in Fall/Winter terms). Students who already have a tuition waiver will receive the academic distinction on their transcript but will not receive the cash tuition offset.
