About this award

If you are a domestic student (including U.S.A. applicants), you get $5,000: $3,500 in your first year, then $500 for each renewal. If you are an international student, you can get up to $24,000: $15,000 in your first year, then $3,000 for each renewal. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an incoming student from anywhere in the world who is starting your very first undergraduate degree and has a strong academic record. There is no separate application form to fill out. However, you must reply to your offer of admission by the deadline set by the Registrar's Office (the university department that handles student records). If you have summer courses, Brock University accepts official transcripts until October 31. Your award is based on your admission average. Since no application is required, the university automatically reviews your grades to determine if you qualify. Selection depends on your final admission average. Domestic students entering in 2026 need at least 85% for any Brock Scholars Award; international students need at least 80%. The money is applied directly to your tuition fees before classes begin in September. This reduces the balance you owe to the university. Note that you cannot use this money for first instalments or down payments. To keep this scholarship, you must remain a full-time student. You also need to maintain a minimum 80 per cent average in each milestone of 5.0 credits. Depending on your program, you can renew this for a total of two renewals (for a three-year pass degree) or three renewals (for a four-year honours degree).

Who qualifies

You must be an incoming student from anywhere in the world entering your first undergraduate program in the Fall term with no previous post-secondary experience. You need a final admission average of 90.0% – 94.9% for this award level. You must maintain full-time status, which means taking at least 3.0 credits in the Fall and Winter terms. Students already holding a tuition waiver will receive the academic distinction on their transcript but will not receive the tuition offset funding.
