About this award

If you are a domestic student (including U.S.A. applicants), you get $3,000: $1,500 in your first year, then $500 for each renewal. If you are an international student, you can get up to $12,500: $8,000 in your first year, then $1,500 for each renewal. This is a scholarship, not a loan, so you do not have to pay it back. This is for you if you are an incoming student from anywhere in the world who is starting your first ever undergraduate program this Fall and has a strong academic record. No separate application is required, but you must reply to your offer of admission by the deadline set by the Registrar's Office (the university office that manages student records). Selection is based automatically on your admission average grade. Every eligible incoming student in this range gets the award; there is no competition. The money is applied directly to your tuition fees before classes begin in September, which reduces the amount you owe the university. Note that if you already have a tuition waiver, you will get the academic honor on your transcript but not the cash offset. To keep this award, you must remain a full-time student. You need a minimum 80 per cent average in each milestone (measured at 5.0, 10.0, and 15.0 cumulative credits) to renew. Students in a pass degree (three years of study) can get two renewals, while those in an honours degree (four years of study) can get three. If you are in the Concurrent Education program, you only get renewals during your first degree, not during your teacher education years (years 5 and 6).

Who qualifies

You must be an incoming student from anywhere in the world entering your first undergraduate program in the Fall term with no previous post-secondary experience. To get this specific amount, your final admission average must be between 85.0% and 89.9%. Domestic students entering in 2026 need at least 85% for any Brock Scholars Award; international students need at least 80%. In Ontario, Brock University determines your average using your top six Grade 12U or 12M credits, including prerequisites. For other curricula, the Admissions Office decides the criteria. You must also maintain full-time status (at least 3.0 credits in Fall/Winter terms) to receive the funds.
